About Ashley

I study how soil microbes influence carbon cycling in forest ecosystems. I am particularly interested in the ways that microbial communities may influence the response of ecosystem carbon dynamics to climate change and shifts in forest composition. With my current research, I am investigating how tree mycorrhizal associations influence the formation and persistence of mineral-associated organic matter in soil collected from forest sites in the National Ecological Observatory Network (NEON).
